A charming throwback to history
The Astoria Hotel captured my heart with its fine Art Deco ambiance and the amazing view of the river. Each morning began with a good breakfast that complemented the luxurious decor of the dining room. The staff were really good.
The age of the building did show in the worn carpets and slightly outdated furnishings. At times, the wifi signal was weak, made staying connected a bit of a challenge. Although the atmosphere was nostalgic, it could use a bit more attention to cleanliness.

Loved the vintage vibe at Astoria! The Art Deco design and spacious rooms added to the charm. The breakfast spread was delicious. Only downside, the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty in the room, but overall, a lovely stay!

Had a very nice stay during weekend and bank holidays, glad I've chosen it. The room was decent sized and what's more - included a bidet, a shower cap and bath sheets. The hotels' team was fairly friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and amazing, with fresh bread good hot coffee and real value for money.

Aye, the vibe here is mad dope, like stepping back in time. The staff was chill and the breakfast spread was real nice-loved starting my day with that. Only downside? Wifi was sketchy in the room, had to roam down to the lobby for a signal. Room was big but could use some updates, feel me?

The staffs were fairly friendly & outstandingly accommodating. We have booked king room with air conditioning, a lovely bathroom, for example for 4 nights.

Convenient location, skilled and efficient staff, outdated equipment and a bit shabby rooms
Little investment in maintenance of the rooms interior can improve the guest satisfaction

The hotel's vintage vibe drew my family and me in, especially my sister. We loved the charming atmosphere and easy access to explore Coimbra's rich offerings. Breakfast was a highlight-lots of delicious options to keep everyone happy.
My children wanted more coat hangers.

This hotel is excellent except that parts of it look a bit run down. I wouldn't bother too much about this though as it has a very nice old world feel to it with a quaint elevator. Its built in the twenties and is clearly visible as a beautiful architechtural landmark as one enters the city. It's a very short walk away from the recreation river-side area of the city and is next to the shopping area as well. Lovely views of the city, it's river and the bridges were to be had from the corner( "romantic" ) room balcony. It also had a couple of quaint and spacious lounges and a lovely breakfast room that served a pretty decent breakfast too!

Nice balkony with a great view over the river and city! However, you have to book a room with a balkony, not all rooms do have this and then the rooms are less attractive. Furthermore the hotel is old fashioned and has no fresh and young atmosphere.
Very unpleasant "old" smell in the rooms
